Time to change our flock around.  This year we will still be hatching BBS Silkies and White Silkies.  We will be adding a few Bourbon Red Turkies and BBS Orps.  We decided to get out of Buff Orps. and Silver Laced Wyndottes.  I am hopeing that our sizzle flock really gets going and we should have some chicks to offer.

Well now we can say winter is definitly here.  Today is our first real snow fall and my flock hates it.  When I went to let them out today noone wanted anything to do with it.  They all made their way to the doors but were not about to go out in it.  They just stood in the doorways telling me how they really didn't like it.  Egg producion of course went down so we are limited on what we have to offer at this time.  If there is anything you are looking for just let us knwo and we let you know what we currently have.  Hope everyone stays warm...

Well today was another great day at Tim and Susies.  We went there with a truck load of nice chickens and only came back with a few.  I ended up buying two beautiful partridge silkies to add to our up and coming Sizzle flock.  I really enjoy going there because of all of our regulars and all of the great birds that everyone brings.I hope that you all could attend September 18th and come see us.

We had a terrible loss last night. Every night we put our chickens up and lock the doors since last year after we lost so many chickens to a possum. Last night while Jeremy was grilling out we decided we would wait till after we ate to put the chickens up so when he finished eating, he went outside to put them up and dead chickens laid everywhere (in a 20 min time frame mind u). We lost 5. :( I am so upset over this, we were lucky that my lil hand raised Pe' Pe' wasnt one of them, he had a few feathers plucked out and now he is having issuses with coming out of the hen house this morning but other than that he is okay...So what do we do now, we put out the live trap and of course make sure our chickens are up before dark but i dont know how we are gonna catch it....

What a month.

Well we had a great day at Tim and Susie's Hen House, took some of the chickens over there and sold everything and came back with some new stuff and some new and fresh ideas. We never really thought about selling farm fresh eggs but we may start next year. Cant do much of anything right now because of Nursing school but next year is a whole different story. Jeremy makes his incubators and that is another idea. Hmm we will see. Any way what a great way to spend the day...No off to study for a test.. Hope everyone has a great week!!!
